I had this shot of five years ago in my archives and started on it awhile back but never finished it. Didn't have to do much with post work and so I left it mostly alone. This is one my great memories of my Japan visit.

Loved the deep color if this other flower grown in the back. My focus was on the pistol that was so much lighter than the flower giving a great contrast. I knew from the time I snapped the shot that I wanted it to be a black and white but didn't know I was going to get such a contrast.

Tried an experiment on this sunflower growing out of control in the backyard. I inverted the picture but found the color of the petals again through hue/sat. I like the flare of the second one in the background.

London's street signs have this interesting charm appeal and they brought my eye to them. Off of the subject I kind of like the reflections that were caught in the bus window. Kind of wish there were more reflections but oh well. I almost made this a black/white but enjoyed the red in the sign.

When I was over in New Mexico for a week my wife and I stopped frequently up and down the Pecos basin. This is a mountain lake that had an interesting trail from where we parked. What I like about this photo is that it has a tunnel effect - your eyes go straight on down to the shimmer of the placid lake.

This was a very random shot I took while in San Diego while waiting on the ferry. When I went back into my shots I noticed that this had an interesting foreground/background effect. Three natural stripes; the sand, sea foam and the blue tide, as a fore/background to this sea gull I was watching at the time. I had my trusty compact with me so it's not the best of clarity but alas, it makes for a neat look.

I often go to this wildlife preserve nearby and it always has opportunities to snap. I was entirely uninterested in this shot until I captured an image in my head of where I wanted to take it. It's somewhat grainy and artifact-laden but I still like the abstractness of the shot.

Took this while in San Diego at the aboratorium. Not sure what flower it is but loved the shape of its petals. This turned out to be a nice color burned product. Also, its good to get something up w/ color now and then. The thumbnail reminded me of one of those firecrackers, "ground blooms", that spin on the ground and make this flash that looks like a flower.

I was crossing the Atlantic when the storm hit. Not really. But thought this was an interesting perspective on a docked ship I visited on the west coast. I like the mood this invokes. Dark, gloomy, cold, fear?

This beach shot was taken in the middle of the day which made for bad lighting. But I still love the perspective of the rocks and love the clouds. So I had to make some magic in order for it to be interesting to look at.
